REAL Awards... the campaign returns
Some of you might remember the push in early .tv-ville for special awards. There would be a specific icon for each award, and the staff would choose members once they realised that they were deserving of the award. I am going to try to find the old thread at .tv and bring it here. I thought this would be a nice inclusion in our New Year's revolution (sgt_pepper's sig). We might even combine it with Borticons, if that's possible. EDIT: Found 'em.Member of the Month Award- goes to the all-round best member in that particular month. Thumbnail could be a Mario cap?
Creativity Award- awarded to creative members. Thumbnail could be Kirby or a paintbrush.
Post Champion Award- awarded to members with a very high post count. Thumbnail could be a stylus, or maybe something from Phoenix Wright? Maybe the "OBJECTION!" screen?
Gamer of the Month Award- goes to the person who wins the most tournaments or plays online the most for a particular month. Thumbnail could be a Star?
Happy-to-Help Award- awarded to members who assist in productions, beta--*test*-('")ing and generally around the site. Thumbnail could be a mushroom, shell or power flower?
Newbie Helper Award- awarded to members that are helpful to new members, make guides and are polite and welcoming to newer members. Thumbnail could be Navi or Peach?
Iron Fist Award- awarded to members who uphold the rules and... encourage... others to do the same. Thumbnail could be Link's Gauntlets, Metal Mario or Bowser?
Dunce of the Week Award- if a member receives a Dunce Award, they must change their avatar title to "I'm the Dunce of the Week". This award goes each week to a member who has not produced any constructive posts. Thumbnail could be a cone hat with a black D, or a Magikarp.
Official Tournament Winner Awards- these awards go to winners of an official tournament. In the reason for giving the award, it must state the game played, the date and who organized the tournament. Thumbnail should just be universal for all tournaments, maybe as a trophy or treasure chest. Or even some kind of symbol relating to IFCA?
Unofficial Tournament Winner Awards- basically the same as above, but applies to Unofficial Tournaments (and as such is not as prestigious). This could have more specific thumbnails, such as a gold brick for Tetris DS, an MKDS trophy for... MKDS, some kind of spacecraft for Starfox Command etc.
Post-Whore Overlord Award- similar to the Post Champion Award, but this award only goes to the member with the highest post count. Thumbnail could be a DS or Lite, a Smeargle or maybe a Star Rod.
Super Spy Award- awarded to members that give out tips, cheats and information on games. Thumbnail could be a Cloaking Device, or Invisible Mario/Luigi, or just a Blue Cap from SM64.
Sidekick Award- awarded to members who are not as well known as some of the robust members, but are still quietly doing their bit to improve the site. Thumbnail could be Luigi, Diddy Kong, Epona (or Navi if she isn't already taken by another award), Falco Lombardi, another lawyer from Phoenix Wright (I've never played it, so I don't know any) or another famous sidekick.
v1 King and Queen Awards- awarded to the two members whom the admins deem fit to be King and Queen of v1. Gender is not a factor, there may be a male queen or a female king. Thumbnail could be Zelda (2D style), Mrs Pac-man or Peach (old-school Peach, that is, and if she hasn't been taken already) for Queen and the King of Hyrule (2D style), Pac-man or Bowser (old school again, and if he hasn't been taken) for the King.
v2 King and Queen Awards- same as the v1 Awards, but this royalty must not have been on v1 at all. Thumbnail could be Daisy, the Great Fairy (from Zelda) or Sheik for Queen and Marth (from Fire Emblem or SSBM), King Dedede or Kirby for King.
Cruel Cruel World Award- awarded to members that are very vocal about what they think. Thumbnail could be Vaati, Ganondorf or that guy from Paper Mario whose name I can't remember.
Admins Choice Award- awarded by the admins for any reason they wish. Thumbnail could be a Kooper Shell, a Goomba or a Luigi Cap.
Avatar of the Month Award- goes each month to the member with the best avatar. Thumbnail could be a Pictograph Box (from Majora's Mask), Lakitu (with camera) or Shy Guy.
Sig of the Month Award- goes each month to the member with the best sig. Thumbnail could be a Smeargle (if not in use already), a Milotic or a MKDS kart while invincible.
Quote-Man Award- awarded to members with great personal text. Thumbnail could be Dr Kawashima (from Brain Training), Toad or a Piranha Plant.
Official Staff Member Badge- given to members of the administration and moderation staff. Thumbnail could be a Hammer or Pegasus Boots.
Official Production Team Badge- given to members of the Production team. Thumbnail could be a Tetris block, ? block or DK barrel.
Official Warning Badge- given to members that may be dangerous (kind of a joke award). Thumbnail could be the "WARNING DANGEROUS DOG" symbol, or just a red circle with a line through it.
Not sure how many more I can think of right now, but keep your ideas coming!
