Again, depends on mood, but in general I love alternative, gentle music. Unless I need some cheering up. Then I bring on the Cher.
Some pop artists are okay, but most of my favourites tend to get the "who?" reaction when I mention them.

I don't really have a favorite genre of music. but I do like to listen to HipHop, R&B, Pop, Rock, Alternative Rock, Metal, Metalcore, DeathMetal, Christian Metal, Punk Rock, Punk Pop, Emo or Screamo (meh...), GoGo (underground music in DC, Maryland and Virginia), some classical music, very few country songs, and I think that's it.
one of my favorite bands is As I Lay Dying (and no, they're not emo. they are a Christian Metalcore band)

as i lay dying? odd name for a religious musical group. CCM=FAIL. for the sake of drawing crowds of teenagers,"christian" bands buy into this generation's emo stupidity and defeat their purpose. stick with the classics. traditional chuch services for the win! back on topic, i like the pillows, though i'm not sure how to define the genre. j-rock, maybe? also,i love classical music and a lot of nobuo uematsu's work.
